The MONTANA SSW is an active subwoofer offering outstanding dynamic realism and definition. The MONTANA SSW will satisfy those who demand the most extreme transients in film soundtracks and music reproduced totally unstained with breathtaking realism, even if the price is surprisingly affordable. The 2 x 12" ultra sensitive sub-bass drivers are powered by a built-in 500 W high-performance power amplifier in a large, yet rock solid cabinet. Numerous bass adjustment controls make it easier to integrate the MONTANA SSW in your room and make it match to any audio system for Home Theatre and music.
There is a growing audience demand for high-performance sound reproduction for music as well as for Home Theatre. Film soundtracks often require tremendous capacity from the loudspeakers dedicated for reproducing the very lowest frequencies without compression and distortion.
The MONTANA SSW is designed to meet the demands of dedicated Home Theatre enthusiasts, but also for those who desire optimum performance from one single audio system for Home Theatre and music. Of course the MONTANA SSW is an excellent candidate for music lovers who for some reason do not use full-range main loudspeakers, but still demand a linear, tight and defined sound reproduction all the way down to the deepest bass region in order to achieve the fundamental that gives life to the music and creates a realistic and pleasant tonal balance for most recorded music.
The hand assembled loudspeaker cabinet is far heavier, more solid and more heavily braced than commonly found in the current price class. The net weight of 187 lbs./85 kilos a piece reveals something about the capacity of the MONTANA SSW. In fact, we dare to claim without reservation that the MONTANA SSW is one of the most well-built sub woofers available in the Nordic market at any price. Rigidity and vibration resistance are necessary features in order to achieve a refined and detailed sound reproduction. The MONTANA SSW works totally effortless regardless of the dynamic load. The cabinet parts are precision cut utilizing the latest CNC technology, thereby ensuring an extremely stiff cabinet structure. The asymmetrical hexagon shaped cabinet design effectively eliminates internal standing waves that would otherwise cause distortion and sonic aberration.
The MONTANA SSW utilizes 2 ea. 12" Bag-End sub bass drivers mounted in an accurately matched and truly voluminous cabinet. These high-performance drivers have extreme dynamic capabilities and will present the sub bass information with intimidating realism. The MONTANA SSW is capable of delivering sound pressure levels with astonishing physical impact, which is very much how low frequency transients are often perceived in real life.
The MONTANA SSW is equipped with one of the most technologically advanced sub woofer amplifiers on the market. A high-power Class A/B output stage and an advanced Class G circuit topology offers the high-fidelity characteristics of a Class A/B design, but also reaps the benefits of a patented tracking down converter power supply to achieve an operating efficiency up to 86 %, which is significantly more efficient than offered by traditional A/B amplifier designs. You get the efficiency of a Class D amplifier, yet with no compromise in terms of resolution, detail and tightness. The advanced electronics continuously serviles the input signal and adapts the voltage supplied to the output stage. A massive toroidal power supply draws current from the electricity network like a Class A/B amplifier, but the sophisticated Class G circuit topology ensures that the exact amount of power required is delivered at any time. Power is delivered instantly on demand instead of constantly keeping a huge power reserve. Heat dissipation and energy waste is reduced to a minimum, so that more power will control the sub woofer drivers.
Parametric Bass Equalization for better room integration and system compatibility are standard features on the sub woofer amplifier that is built into the MONTANA SSW. The MONTANA SSW sub woofer amplifier system includes a 24 dB/octave low-pass filter, an advanced soft clip circuitry and a phase reversal switch. Hence, the MONTANA SSW will offer peak performance in a wide variety of rooms and Home Theatre / audio installations.
Nominal impedance is approximately 4 ohms, which means that the MONTANA SSW generally will deliver more than 500 W of brute power on demand while handling film soundtracks or recorded music.
Choose between dozens of various beautiful real wood veneers or glossy piano lacquer in different colours for the first class finish of your hand assembled MONTANA SSW!
